FFA Opening and Closing Ceremonies (OCC) Competition Practice Test

The key idea is eligibility for national leadership hinges on having earned the American FFA Degree. This is the highest FFA degree, earned after meeting extensive criteria that demonstrate sustained membership, leadership, scholarship, and community involvement. Because national officers are expected to represent the organization at the highest level, the American FFA Degree serves as a clear signal that a member has demonstrated the commitment and experience suitable for national responsibilities.

Other degrees mark important steps in FFA involvement—Discovery, Greenhand, and Chapter degrees show progress and achievement at different stages—but they are not sufficient by themselves to qualify for national office. The American Degree confirms readiness for the broader scope and responsibilities of serving as a National FFA Officer.
